Kirkland Elementary School, received the Oklahoma Association of Elementary School Principals 2024 ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR award and the National Association of Elementary School Principals NATIONAL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR award! 🤗When you are around Mrs.Hoggatt her smile is infectious. Her voice is like a soft pillow for her students to land on whenever they need it. The excited energy she brings about every morning makes her kids excited to learn. Her passion for what she does radiates through the hallways of Kirkland Elementary. Her school is a well-oiled machine that functions in a way that attracts more staff to our District and also makes her current staff absolutely adore her leadership. Congratulations, Mrs. Hoggatt 🎉🌟

📣 Lake Park Teacher is Magic 104.1 Teacher of the Month! 📻 Ms. Brown was nominated by her colleague, Ms. Laird, with a heartfelt letter that ultimately led to her being chosen as the Magic 104.1 Teacher of the Month! Ms. Brown, while hard at work with her students, was surprised in the middle of the hallway by the Magic Man himself and awarded a $250 check. How fitting that today's alphabet dress-up day at Lake Park Elementary was Q for Queen Day because the Lions have an official Magic Queen, Ms. Brown. ✨

Congratulations to Putnam City North's Yearbook Staff! The Panther Tracks 2023 yearbook has been honored with the Top Ten Percent award by Varsity Yearbooks because the book was considered to be in the top 10 percent of the thousands of books they publish nationwide. Last year's book was also featured in their portfolio for outstanding content. This is the second year in a row the yearbook staff has received the award.

🤖 PCH Air Force JROTC Robotics heads to Dallas to compete at Nationals and Worlds 🏆 The team has already won 3 State Championships, now they are off to Dallas for 7 days to compete against 120 ROTC units at Nationals and 820 schools internationally at Worlds. By the way, did we mention this was the PCH Unit's first time competing in robotics?! Their success is a huge accomplishment in the quickly growing field of robotics that the AFJROTC headquarters has not seen before. We wish the Pirates and their amazing robot the best of luck in the competitions! Way to represent Putnam City Schools and Oklahoma to the fullest!

#PCStudentSuccess: 🌎️ Learning How To Take Care Of Our Earth Together🌎️ ♻️Reduce, re-use, recycle was the main theme of lesson plans across the District for Earth Day yesterday as teachers explained how valuable the planet we inhabit should be treated and how we can strive for that message together. Some showed how beautiful they could make their own world with glitter and dot paintings. Some celebrated with a delicous old fashioned dirt cup at lunch. Others helped spread more color, and pollination, by releasing even more butterflys in outside classrooms! ♻️

#PCProud: 🏁On Your Mark, Get Set, And Go🏁 👟The 14th Annual Putnam City Cancer Classic was this weekend in support of OMRF to raise funds for medical research. Although the windchill was a little harsh, it did not stop our participant's presence, camaraderie, and strive for that finish line!

🐛 Blooms, Butterflies, and Buddies 🦋 Students at elementary schools across the District have been studying the transformative process of their beautiful caterpillars turned butterflies, while high school Environmental Science and Botany students have been hard at work transforming and growing the PCN Outdoor Classroom. 🌻 Today, the two converged to showcase the symbiotic relationship between the pollinators and the flowers as our Dennis Dolphins traveled to Putnam City North to release their beloved butterflies into Mother Nature. Many elementary students said, "Bye-bye, butterfly" to their insect buddies as they spread their wings and flew to the beautiful flowers.

🌓It's A Total Eclipse Of Our School Day🌗 Students across our District were immersed into infinity as they watched the shadows of the moon overcome the sun during the rare celestial spectacle that is called the Great Solar Eclipse. Thank you to our teachers for going above and beyond in prepping our students for this special event. Our District shined bright with KOCO Meteorologist Sabrina Bates and StateImpact Oklahoma National Public Radio joining some of our students to watch totality, turning this magical scientific moment into a fascinating storytelling adventure!

📚 Trading in Words Per Minute for Miles Per Hour 🚲 The Pirates at D.D. Kirkland Elementary have been working hard to level up their reading and grow as a learner with help from some nearby community volunteers at Lakeside United Methodist Church. In addition to providing the new bikes to these lucky winners, the community volunteers have been actively mentoring, encouraging, and reading with our little Pirates to help them achieve new skills. Next, we think they'll achieve some land speed records with these new wheels! We can't thank our community partners across the District enough for all they do. 🧡

#PCAthletics: 🎾Aces Like Serena, Advantages Like McEnroe🎾 Putnam City North Panthers hosted the PC Triangular Tennis Tournament where men's and women's teams from all three of our high schools exhibited some smashin' serves and fierce backhand battles!

🎭 All That Jazz at PC West 🎭 Putnam City West Performing Arts brought the razzle-dazzle to the stage with a tantalizing performance of Chicago: Teen Edition. Bring your jazz hands and killer dance moves to their upcoming performances: March 7th at 7pm, March 8th at 7pm, March 9th, 1pm and 7pm.

🏆 Track & Field at Putnam City West 🏆 It was the ultimate showdown as 1,200+ athletes from 24 high schools converged at Putnam City West this weekend to sprint, jump, and throw their way to victory. There's never a shortage of excitement at Track and Field events!

🚌 Indian Youth Career Day at UCO 💼 A group of high school students from across the District traveled to UCO with the Native American Student Services Department to attend Indian Youth Career Day, joining schools from across the state! These students attended several workshop sessions, campus tours, and heard from keynote speaker, Billy Mills, 1964 Olympic Gold Medalist.
