Back-to-school means looking at where we stand and where we want to go.
At our All-Admin Workshop, leadership teams from each school across Putnam City reviewed student data, aligned on goals, and prepared for Day 1. With just under three weeks until students return to campus, the groundwork is set, and we are ready to welcome everyone back!

Back-to-school season means sports are underway in Putnam City! Hefner Vikings Athletics held softball tryouts, with students sharing summer stories between drills and water breaks. Good luck to our athletes and coaches for the 2026–2027 season! #GoBoldly #BackToSchool #Softball

Final Assignment: 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞! ♟️
Coach Crump’s 7th grade math students at Hefner Middle School wrapped up the year by creating board games where solving math problems helps you win. They invited Miss OCU 2026, Mary Elle Marchant, to learn their games and play along as part of her "Hang Up and Hang Out" platform, which encourages connection and being present in a digital world.

One last walk through the elementary halls... 🎓️
For younger students, 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 offer a look at where they’re headed. For seniors, they're a look at how far they’ve come.
Sometimes, one last chance to play parachute in the gym is too good to pass up.

Rollingwood Elementary’s 2nd graders are the 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨! ⚡️📚️ With literacy intentionally built into their STEM curriculum, students collectively read the most minutes and placed 1st out of 𝟯𝟬𝟲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 across Oklahoma.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙯𝙚𝙣: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 at Putnam City North was a masterclass in high school music theatre, bringing the production to life with extravagant sets, costumes, and talent that would feel right at home on a professional stage.

Miriah Holcomb from Putnam City High School has been named a finalist for the 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞 𝙊’𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨, one of Oklahoma’s top honors for high school musical theatre performers. Miriah recently played Eurydice in PC High Theatre’s production of Hadestown, and we’re proud to see her talent recognized at this level!

𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆’𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 featured three days of relays, sprints, long jump, tug of war, and enough cheering to leave everyone’s ears ringing. We saw big wins, close finishes, and a few competitive tears, but the best part was seeing our kids realize what they're capable of.

Putnam City celebrates our 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬! 💐

Summer reading starts with finding a book students actually want to open. 📖
Overholser Elementary wanted 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 to read at home over the summer, and this year’s Free Book Fair made it happen. Students picked stories that matched their interests and reading levels, took them home to keep, and got a reminder about how to use public libraries when it's time for a new book.
