Mrs. Stevens!🏆️ She was awarded as the Oklahoma Association for Bilingual Education’s Support Staff Employee of the Year, a recognition she truly deserves. With 23 years of dedicated service in PC Schools, Mrs. Stevens has made significant contributions throughout our district. She began her career as a childcare teacher for Even Start at Central Elementary, where she worked for four years. During this time, she also took on responsibilities with the adult ESL class at PC Center and translated for parent-teacher conferences at Central for about 15 years. Since 2021, she has been a valued staff member at PC West High School. Mrs. Stevens has witnessed our District's growth, and we are thrilled to celebrate this moment and see her hard work pay off! 🎉Congratulations Mrs. Stevens🎉

🪖 Right on Target, Campus Police Teaches JROTC at the Range 🚔 Talk about a unique experience! PCW and PCH JROTC Cadets joined forces with our very own Putnam City Campus Police at the gun range, learning critical gun safety and trying out some pretty cool machinery guided by the professionals. Campus Police then topped off the experience by grilling up some lunch for the cadets.

#PCCommunity: 🐶Let Us Tell You About Our Best Friend🐾 Meet Hazle and Clover, two of the most beloved guests at Will Rogers Elementary! Hazle is a national champion therapy dog registered with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, while Clover is still working hard towards her own registration. Together, these two canines have made a remarkable difference, helping to improve reading skills by calming anxiety and providing support to teachers and students during sensitive times. They've also been known to assist with health-related issues, making a positive impact in our school community every time they visit!🥹

🤗 PCN Panthers Inspire Elementary Students Through ASL 🤗 High school students from Putnam City North recently shared their knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) with younger students at James L. Dennis Elementary, fostering communication skills and building connections across PC campuses.

📚 New York Times Bestselling Author Visits Putnam City 📚 There's nothing quite like the feeling of opening a brand-new book, especially one signed by the author! Scott Reintgen visited the Overholser Oilers and Western Oaks Elementary Warriors this morning. He talked about his newest book, "The Last Dragon on Mars," and answered many questions about his life as a full-time award-winning author! What a cool experience for our Putnam City students to inspire students to dream big and read more.

🥳 Nearly 300 PCW Patriots Celebrate Excellent Attendance 🥳 The PCW Patriots celebrated their positive attendance this week with a one-of-a-kind Fiesta! Nearly 300 students qualified for the event where they got time to just chill with friends, eat pizza, snacks, and cotton candy, and play a variety of games together.

#PCStudentSuccess: 🍎🍏Planting Seeds Of Apples And Kindness🍎🍏 The second graders at Northridge Elementary celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day this week by making apple pies together! Through the story of Johnny Appleseed, they learned valuable lessons about kindness, generosity, and the importance of nature. They also explored how apple trees change with the seasons and discovered how one small apple seed—or a simple act of kindness—can make a big difference in the world around them.

Their special guests, the Putnam City High Step Team, kicked off the day with some amazing moves, setting the tone for rockstar-themed educational lessons that spread throughout the entire school.

🌱 PCN Home Of Rare Milkweed Plant Species 🦋 A rare plant species, the Zizotes Milkweed, is growing at Putnam City North! The Outdoor Classroom at PCN is a vibrant place for all types of plants, insects, and now the rare milkweed. A Conservation Biologist from the OKC Zoo came out and surveyed the plants this week and found about 20 more milkweed plants growing. There are 29 recordings of this rare milkweed in Oklahoma, 5 in Oklahoma County, and 2 of those are at PCN! We can't wait for all the monarch butterflies to find the milkweed plants next!

🤑 FUNdraising at Northridge ends with slime 🤑 Slime was the grand finale of the Fun Run at Northridge Elementary today. These fundraising efforts took buckets of dedication; dedication of the students and families for raising all the money, and dedication of our amazing teachers and principal for willing to get slimed!
