In order to help meet the needs of busy families, participating Putnam City elementary schools offer an afterschool program. The aftercare program begins when the school day ends. Children must be picked up no later than 6 p.m. Some schools may also offer before care. Earliest drop off times may vary per school.
This convenient program offers a safe environment for children in kindergarten through grade 5. Healthy snacks are provided after school. Daily activities will be planned outdoors (as weather permits), in the computer lab, the gym, action-based learning labs and in the cafeteria. The Extended Care program maintains a fully trained staff.
School participation in this program is not guaranteed. As each school will decide if they will or will not offer the program based on community demand/needs and staffing availability, participating schools may vary yearly. Below are the schools offering Extended Care:
Arbor Grove Elementary
Harvest Hills Elementary
Ralph Downs Elementary
Wiley Post Elementary
Will Rogers Elementary
Western Oaks Elementary
Putnam City offers three different types of Extended Care. Full-time enrollment is for students attending 4-5 days per week. Part-time enrollment is for students attending 2-3 days per week. Scheduled Day Enrollment is available to students attending Extended Care 1 day per week. The day must be scheduled ahead of time. The daily rate is $25.00.
In order to ensure that the program is properly staffed each day, drop-in Extended Care is not available. All students must be enrolled in one of the offered Extended Care enrollment plans prior to attending.
Scheduled Day: $40/week
Scheduled Day: $25/week
Scheduled Day: $15/week
The Extended Care program bills monthly, in advance. Your monthly invoiced amount is calculated by averaging the total amount of school days in the year out over 10 months.
All fees are due prior to service. A $5 per day late fee is assessed for payments that are more than three days late.
Those with overdue fees (five school days) will not be eligible for continued participation until balances are paid in full.
There is no reduced rate or refund for children who are ill or absent. If a child has an extended illness (two weeks+), please contact your school’s Extended Care Director or Financial Secretary to discuss financial arrangements.
The number of school days in the year was averaged out over 10 months. All breaks and scheduled non-school days have been pre calculated in our monthly invoicing to avoid prorated month invoices.
