STRONG READERS ACT

The Oklahoma Strong Readers Act is dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the support needed to develop strong reading skills from the earliest stages of learning. Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher, and fostering literacy begins at home. Beginning in kindergarten, students are assessed to monitor reading progress, and this page is designed to provide families with the resources and guidance necessary to support literacy development. In alignment with the newly legislated changes to the Strong Readers Act, schools are required to publish designated literacy data on their website by September 1, 2025. This information must be presented in the standardized format provided by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), found below:
