PTO Council
The main aim of Putnam City's PTO Council is to strengthen PTOs of local units by comparing methods of work and sharing information. The Council shares not only information about the happenings of the Council, but also the latest information concerning education and advocacy for children and youth.
The Council provides a way for the local units to take action on issues of education, children, and youth through the combined strength of the local PTOs.
The Council provides in-depth information on current issues related to education and works to build local PTO support for local, state and national legislative action. The Council provides opportunities to address issues that reach beyond the local school community, creating a forum for public information and debate on issues that affect children. The interests of local members are represented by the Council before Putnam City's Board of Education.
When asked, the Council will assist school PTOs with any problem they have and works to help them increase their effectiveness. The Council provides information, leadership, support, opportunities to work together, leadership development, sharing of ideas and more.
