Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018 Selected at Each Putnam City School

Teachers of the year for each of Putnam City’s schools have been selected and will be honored at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year event on Tuesday, March 6, at Newchurch, 9201 N. Rockwell. The event’s reception begins at 6:30 p.m.; the program begins at 7.

Each school’s “Teacher of the Year” is chosen by the school’s teaching staff. The 2017-2018 Putnam City teachers of the year are:

   • Patty Smith, Central Elementary
   • Julie Parker, Coronado Heights Elementary School
   • Meaghan Howe, James L. Dennis Elementary
   • Kay Patrick, Ralph Downs Elementary
   • Michelle Canning, Harvest Hills Elementary
   • Jessica Towne, Hilldale Elementary
   • Patsy Holland, Kirkland Elementary
   • Eric Boswell, Lake Park Elementary
   • Amanda Day, Northridge Elementary
   • Stephanie Ballinger, Overholser Elementary
   • Jamie Sneed, Rollingwood Elementary
   • Lauren McDown, Tulakes Elementary

Each of the 27 teachers of the year is also a nominee for Putnam City Schools’ District Teacher of the Year. The winner of that award will be announced at the March 6 reception.

The Teacher of the Year reception, sponsored by the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation, is free and open to the public.
