How Your Property Taxes Support Schools

The property taxes paid by property owners in the Putnam City area support not just Putnam City schools, but also Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Oklahoma County, the City-County Health Department and the Metropolitan Library System.

The amount of property tax you pay is expressed in mills (tenths of a cent). The more mills are assessed, the higher your property taxes are.

As you can see below, taxes paid by Putnam City residents for their schools are low when compared to other metro districts. This bond election won't do anything to make them go higher. Voter approval of Putnam City's 2017 bond proposal would not increase property taxes.
