Curriculum and Instruction

Oklahoma’s Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) serve as a set of specific school standards covering all areas of a student’s academic growth. These detailed sets of standards guide teachers and school leaders as they plan curriculum, instruction, and assessment for students.

There must be rigor in the core curricula so that students become better thinkers and problem solvers who can apply and transfer what they learn to the world beyond school. In order to prepare all students for future success, Putnam City strives to make core curriculum rigorous and relevant.

Putnam City offers comprehensive curricula in grades PreK-12, which includes the following areas:
•  Language arts
•  Mathematics
•  Science
•  Social studies
•  Physical education
•  Fine arts (visual and performing arts)
