Early Birds
(Formerly READY! for Kindergarten)
Early Birds, formerly READY! for Kindergarten, is a program that gives hands-on help to parents of children ages birth to 5. The intent is to help parents learn how and what they can teach their infants, toddlers and young children at home. Early Birds classes cover areas such as social and emotional development, reading with the children and math activities, all in in order to help children be prepared for kindergarten and a lifetime of learning beyond.
There are free books, toys and classes for Putnam City parents of children from birth to age 5 who take part in Early Birds classes. Free childcare for children up to 10 years of age is provided during the Early Birds sessions, too.
