Cultural classes are available to Native American students in grades 3 through 5. Classes provide tribal and cultural awareness by storytelling, history lectures, dances and arts and crafts. Students enrolled in the Putnam City Indian Education program are notified of class dates.
The Putnam City Youth Powwow is an annual event that is held in honor of all K-12 Native American students in the district. It's a time for students, parents, teachers and the community to come together and experience the Native American culture through dance and song. Dancers and singers from the Putnam City school district and throughout the state are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
