Lift-Off! logoLift-Off! is our Ambassador of Good Nutrition. This year's promotion series in the elementary schools will focus on "Nutrition" and "Activity" tips. Available through the Child Nutrition office is a DVD entitled Lift-Off's Bright Ideas. It chronicles the daily routine of Lift-Off and all the healthy choices he makes throughout the day. It is a great addition to your current health or nutrition classes. Contact Cindy Stanbrough RD, LD, at 495-0184.

Change Your World is the theme for the annual fundraising effort to Stop Hunger. Elementary students may contribute "change" at the registers and bring canned food items to school for collection April 1st through April 25th at all elementary school sites.  All proceeds from this event go to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Lickety Splits is a build-your-own yogurt banana split bar. This exciting new concept will be offered for breakfast to middle and high school students on Friday, April 11, and Friday, April 25. Try a refreshing change of pace this month and check with your school for breakfast service times.

Kids Culinary Contest  Elementary students submitted recipes for consideration to represent their school or class in a "cook-off" for prizes and awards. The recipes were nutritious in nature and prepared by the students. The 2008 Champion was awarded at the "cook-off "on March 10th.
