No Child Left Behind Report Cards
State Department of Education


To meet federal accountability requirements, the State Department of Education calculates and publishes "No Child Left Behind Act Report Cards." The report card lists school sites identified for school improvement based on test scores, testing participation, attendance or graduation rates not meeting the requirements of federal law.

Report Card Contents
According to the No Child Left Behind Act , school report cards must contain:

1. Student achievement at each performance level on state-mandated achievement tests disaggregated into each of the student groups below (including highly mobile students, those who did not attend a full academic year at that school):
• All Students
• Regular Students
• Gender
• Migrant Students
• Economically Disadvantaged Students
• Major Racial Ethnic Groups
• English Language Learners (ELL)
• Students with Individualized Education Program (IEP)

2. Student achievement levels of each student group compared to statewide performance targets (not including highly mobile students)

3. Percentage of students taking state tests

4. Graduation rates for secondary school students in each of the following groups:
• All Students
• Regular Students
• Major Racial/Ethnic Groups
• Economically Disadvantaged
• English Language Learners (ELL)
• Students with Individualized Education Program (IEP)

5. Name of each school identified for School Improvement

6. Most recent two-year trend in student achievement in each subject area

7. Percentage of teachers that meet the "highly qualified" criteria in the law
