Credit Recovery
While students will be able to work at their own pace, a good guide would be one half (1/2) a credit per session. Students needing to complete a full (1) (A+) credit (an entire course) should enroll for both morning and afternoon sessions. Working at a faster pace, it is possible that a student could earn additional units of credit at no additional cost beyond the full $400 tuition.
Regular Classes
Students enrolled in a traditional course must be in attendance daily for either one or both sessions. Any student with more than 6 ½ hours of absence for one session or 13 hours for both session(s) must be dropped. This is a state requirement. The maximum credit available per session is one half credit (½), or a total of one full (1) credit for students who attend in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Bus Service
Transportation will be provided at no cost to students. If your student needs to ride the bus, they can pick up the bus schedule when they enroll. Bus routes will pick up at Mayfield Middle School, Western Oaks Middle School, Cooper Middle School, Hefner Middle School, Putnam City West High School and Putnam City High School.
Tutoring
Before and after school tutoring will be available at no cost to students.
Meals
Meals are not provided for students in the high school programs. However, a limited menu may be available for purchase in the cafeteria. If attending both sessions, students will be able to leave campus for lunch.
Attendance
Being diligent to maintain good attendance is very important for students hoping to gain the best opportunity for credit recovery. No provisions can be made for vacations or “special situations.” There are no “excused” or “unexcused” absences. Students enrolled in the A+ curriculum have the length of each daily session in which to complete the necessary course work for their individual credit recovery needs. Failure to do so will result in no credit being awarded for a respective course(s). Additionally, if a student is enrolled in the A+ curriculum, once a unit of credit has been attained there is no obligation for them to attend the daily sessions. As noted above, students enrolled in a class following a traditional format are subject to the attendance guidelines set by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. No requests for refunds will be granted after June 11th.
