Genevieve Phillips, the director of the Wildcat Clubhouse before and after-school care program at Windsor Hills Elementary School, has been awarded a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children. The credential was awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C., which represents the early childhood education profession.
Cindy Watson of James L. Dennis Elementary School was the Heartland Rotary Club Teacher of the Month for September.
Rose Mary Story, library media specialist at Putnam City North High School, has been named by the Oklahoma Association of School Library Media Specialists as winner of the Polly Clarke Award. The award, established in 1988, recognizes a school librarian who develops outstanding library programs that serve the instructional needs of students, teachers and administrators. The award identifies and publicizes model library programs in which the role of library media specialist is to plan and teach with faculty, as well as to administer the operation of the library media center.
