The Silver Strings of Putnam City will give a public performance at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, in the atrium of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, 6789 N.W. 39th.
Silver Strings is comprised of strings students from the orchestra programs of all three Putnam City high schools.
Under the direction of Anne Guevera and Steven Hughes, the group will peform their 2004 program. Included in the program’s 25-plus songs will be "Rock Around the Clock," "I Will Follow Him," "Till There Was You," "Tribute to Elvis" and "Sunshine of My Life."
Tickets are $4 per person or $10 per family. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Proceeds will be used to cover costs of sound equipment and travel expenses for future performances.
Silver Strings has performed in venues from Paris, France, to Fairview, Okla., with numerous stops in between. The group regularly performs for banquets and civic organizations around the state and also volunteers its talent to community in performances in hospitals and senior citizen centers.
