Rick McClure, an art teacher at Putnam City North High School, is featured in the "Artists to Watch" section of the October issue of Southwest Art magazine. The magazine is one of the most prestigious art publications in the country.

Glenda Ross, an art teacher at Putnam City's Ralph Downs Elementary School, has been named Oklahoma Art Educator of the Year by the Oklahoma Art Education Association (OAEA).
Linda Esser, an art teacher at Putnam City North High School, has been named Oklahoma Middle School Art Educator of the Year by the OAEA. The award recognizes Esser's efforts last year, when she taught at Central Middle School.
Jan Kimzey of Putnam City Academy has been named the Heartland Rotary Club teacher of the month for November.
Putnam City North High School drama students placed second and Putnam City West High School drama students placed third at the Regional One-Act Play Contest in mid-October. Of 10 students selected to the All-Star Regional Cast, five were from district schools. Winning regional honors were Hillary Finch, Holly McNatt and Ryan Martin from Putnam City North and Alex Hall and Lauren Fair from Putnam City West.
