Putnam City North High School math teacher Peggy Rooks will be recognized an Outstanding Role Model by the National Society of High School Scholars at an event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Petroleum Club. NSHSS student members may nominate teachers for the award when they feel teachers have made a difference in their lives.

The Heartland Rotary Club will honor Debra Clark of Tulakes Elementary School as their teacher of the month at their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10. The club recognized Judy Murnan of Hefner Middle School in September and Cindy Brower of Hilldale Elementary School in October.

Putnam City North journalism teacher Betty Herman will receive a Golden Apple Award from Rose State College on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The college’s Golden Apple wards are given to K-12 teachers based on essays written by Rose State students.

Magic 104 has honored two district teachers in their "Teacher Feature" program. Janet Denker of Cooper Middle School and Valarie Prince of Coronado Heights Elementary School have received the honor this year.
