Putnam City North Yearbook Honored

Putnam City North High School’s 2005 Panther Tracks yearbook won the Charles E. "Colonel" Savedge Memorial Sweepstakes Award for Best in State High School Yearbook Division 1 in late October at the fall convention of the Oklahoma Scholastic Media/Oklahoma Interscholastic Press Association. The book received highest honors in its yearly critique and was named an All Oklahoman by the judges.

  • First Place in Student Life Spread to graduates Joel Nunnally, Hajimirzaei, Sarah Dickson, Faye Enriquez and senior Stephanie Milchalko
  • First Place in Sports Spread to Nunnally, Hajimirzaei and graduate Kristin Cooper
  • First Place in Student Life Story to sophomores Ebony Bullard and Alyse Burgess
  • First Place in Caption Writing to the Yearbook Staff
  • First Place in Single Ad to Enriquez
  • First Place in Alternative Copy to the Yearbook Staff
  • First Place in Cover/First Impression to McMahan and Nunnally
  • First Place in Packaging and Structure to Dickson, Hajimirzaei, and Enriquez
  • Second Place in Overall Ad Section/Content to Hamimirzaei
  • Second Place in Academic Story to junior Madison Schmakel and sophomore Travis Cude
  • Second Place in Organization Story to Burgess and sophomore Glenda Tiller
  • Second Place in Ad Page or Spread to Hajimirzaei
  • Second Place in Graphic Element to Nunnally and McMahan
  • Second Place in Portrait Page or Spread to Hajimirzaei and juniors Faith Bellieu and Veronica Hart
  • Second Place in Headline Design to Nunnally and McMahan

In April 2005 Panther Tracks was inducted into the National Scholastic Press Association’s (NSPA) Hall of Fame. Panther Tracks earned NSPA’s highest rating 11 years in a row. Hall of Fame inductees must earn at least 10 such ratings in an 11-year stretch.
