Teacher Awards
Putnam City West High School history teacher Neil Hill and Hefner Middle School social studies teacher Margaret Purifoy have been selected to receive scholarships that will enable them to attend summer workshops sponsored by The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. Workshops offered by the organization empower teachers to return to the classroom with a deeper understanding of our nation and history. Participants travel to significant historical sites under the guidance of noted historians who provide vivid information and interpretation.
Jennie Croslin of Putnam City West High School recently received the University of Central Oklahoma Distinguished High School Science Teacher Award.
Judy Berger of Windsor Hills Elementary School is the Heartland Rotary Club Teacher of the Month in March.
Tom Jedlicka, a health and physical education teacher at Putnam City North High School, was inducted into the Oklahoma USSSA 2005 (Softball) Hall of Fame in late February as Umpire of the Year for Oklahoma. Jedlicka has umpired since he was 18 years old.
