Information Fair to be Held for Families with Special Needs Students

Families with special needs students may attend an information fair from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, in the west wing of Putnam City West High School, 8500 N.W. 23rd.

On hand at the information fair will be more than 50 agencies that will share information about how they can make the students’ and parents' lives easier. Agencies that provide hearing tests, dental exams and medical equipment will be at the information fair, as well as agencies that operate sheltered workshops and assisted living facilities. Oklahoma State Rehabilitation Services and the Developmental Disabilities Service Division (DDSD) of DHS will also provide information.

The event is open to families from across the metro area. Information available at the fair relates to special needs students of all ages and levels of disabilities.

"We plan to have something for everyone and every age group," says Putnam City West teacher Darlene Whaley.

For more information about the information fair, contact Whaley at 787-1140, ext. 2380.
