Putnam City North High School senior Zach Brinlee has been named as All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He has been invited to Baltimore for the National Awards presentation in January. Brinlee is the first All-American in Putnam City North's long-successful soccer program.

The Hefner Middle School Knowledge Master Team took first in the state in the fall competition on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The team members are Lindsay Martin, Tallie Thompson, Courtney King, Andrew Maples, Nathan Miles, Matt Shao, Connor Deimund, Cecil Wilber, Josh Burgess, Spencer Cornelius, Jarod Harsha, Steven Harsha, Nathan Young, and Matt Wallen. The students are part of the Hefner PEAK program and are coached by Ann Chesney and Barbara Fowler.

Putnam City West student Eva Anaya and Putnam City High School students Angelo Trigoso and Angela Peralta were each awarded a $500 scholarship at the annual Tomás Rivera Educational Empowerment Conference at OU in early November.

Putnam City High School student Jimmy Morley is one of 10 students in the state to be selected by KOCO-TV as a student reporter for their "High School Playbook." Jimmy will be trained in December and start in January as a paid online reporter.

Five Dennis Elementary students applied for and were accepted to a prestigious program sponsored by the Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. They will be part of a unique mentorship designed to introduce them to the many facets of the health sciences industry. They are part of a larger group of 50 students from across the Oklahoma City area that will begin their training in January and will continue through high school at absolutely no cost to their families. They will attend classes one Saturday a month and also participate in a four-week program in the summer. Participating students are Joshua Little, Dylan Rodolf, Madison Reasnor, Michael Klaver and Akriti Jalla.

A team of Harvest Hills Elementary School students finished first in their 12-team region and second among 105 teams in the state in a stock market game sponsored by the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education.
