Students in Angela Owens 3rd-grade class at Central Intermediate School learned about geography and practiced their writing by hosting Owney the Traveling Dog.
Each student wrote postcards to other participating classes in the country to let them know Owney had arrived safely. Students also received postcards from elsewhere in the country, tracked responses on a map and learned unique facts about towns and cities Owney visited.

Hi! This is Owney. I have been to lots of states. I’m at Oklahoma right now. I went to Whitewater Bay and lots of other places. Mrs. Owens had an Owney party for me!I have to go. Bye.
