For more than 90 years, Putnam City Schools has been one of the premier school districts in the state, bringing together families in northwest Oklahoma City to provide a high-quality education for students in preschool through high school.

For 18 consecutive years, Putnam City Schools has been selected as one of the top school systems in the nation as a recipient of the SchoolMatch "What Parents Want Award"
71 teachers in the district have National Board Certification
26.2 percent of district teachers have advanced degrees (masters or doctorates)
Five of our schools have been named Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education: James L. Dennis Elementary (1985-86); Putnam City North High School (1988-89); Will Rogers Elementary (1998-99); Wiley Post Elementary (1989-90); Coronado Heights Elementary (1996-97).
We've been recognized by Money magazine as one of the nation’s "100 Top Schools in Towns You Can Afford."
In 2010 The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced that Putnam City Schools received the 22nd annual Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network and National School Boards Association Award. The district was singled out from nominees around the country for its outstanding support of high-quality arts education.

110 Academic All-Staters in 25 years, the thirdhighest of any school district in Oklahoma
Seventy-one district students were named Oklahoma Academic Scholars by the Oklahoma State Department of Education in 2010. Putnam City, the state’s fifth-largest school district, has the third-highest number of Oklahoma Academic Scholars all-time.
