When Our Schools Opened

Students of all ages first went to school in a single Putnam City building in 1914. Since that time, the district has grown to include 18 elementary schools, five middle schools, three traditional high schools and one alternative high school. The district's newest school is Kenneth Cooper Middle School, which opened in 1993.
