Putnam City Students Named Oklahoma Academic Scholars
Ninety-four district students have been named Oklahoma Academic Scholars by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The State Board of Education recognizes as an Oklahoma Academic Scholar any graduating senior who meets these requirements:
• Accumulate over Grades 9, 10, 11, and the first semester of Grade 12, a minimum grade point average of 3.7 on a four-point scale, or be in the top 10 percent of the graduating class
• Expectation of completion of the curricular requirements for a high school diploma in the spring of 2008
• Achieve a composite score of 27 on the ACT or a combined verbal and mathematics of 1,220 score on the SAT I
The students were honored in ceremonies on April 7 in the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Academic Scholars recognition includes a notation on the student’s official transcript, a gold seal affixed to the high school diploma and a certificate of recognition from the State Board of Education.
Last year 92 Putnam City students were named Oklahoma Academic Scholars.
