Dr. Kenneth Cooper Joins Wall of Fame Putnam City’s most widely known graduate, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, was announced as the newest member of the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation Wall of Fame at the Foundation banquet on April 12. The district's Excellent Educators were also announced.
PTA Council Honors Teacher, Administrator The Putnam City PTA Council recently named their district teacher of the year and administrator of the year.
Outstanding Support Staff Five district employees were honored in early April with "Outstanding Support Staff" awards from the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation.

Putnam City High Yearbook Wins National Awards The highest honors from the National Scholastic Press Association go to Treasure Chest.

Reaching for the Dream Nicole Dehuff, a graduate of Putnam City High School’s Class of 1993, had a dream. In reaching for her dream, she set an example for students and teachers alike, says Central Intermediate teacher Angela Owen.
A cappella jazz The jazz vocal ensemble m-pact has been hailed as "one of the best pop-jazz vocal ensembles in the world" by The San Francisco Chronicle and "among the best a cappella groups in the country" by NBC’s Today Show. The group will perform on Saturday, April 16, at Putnam City High School, 5300 N.W. 50th.
Lads in Plaid The musical comedy Forever Plaid is the funny, charming story of "The Plaids," a classic 1950s all-male singing group. Hear the Plaids (four Putnam City West students) perform some of the 1950s biggest hits including, Chain Gang, Heart and Soul, Love Is A Many Splendored Thing and Magic Moments.
Teacher Job Fair Coming Up Spread the word to your friends and family. Putnam City's teacher job fair is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26.

On the Right Track Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students took the first lap around the new track at Harvest Hills Elementary School. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the track was held in late March. Students and their families engaged in fund-raising activities for 1 ½ years to pay for the $50,000 track.

Apples Everywhere Elementary school students across the district helped unpack new Macintosh computers. The district purchased 30 new iMacs for each school to replace old Macintosh computers that are slow, can no longer be upgraded and are expensive to service. The $990,910 project was paid for with MAPS for Kids funds. The new computers are already configured with educational software.

You Deserve a Check Today Betty Santiago of Santiago McDonald’s presented a check for more than $1,000 to Rollingwood Elementary School for being the district school that rang up the highest sales on McDonald’s Teacher Night.
