Teachers of the Year Selected

Teachers of the year for each of Putnam City’s 27 schools have been selected and will be honored at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year event on Tuesday, March 13, at NEWCHURCH, 9201 N. Rockwell. The event’s reception begins at 6:30 p.m.; the program begins at 7.

Each school’s “Teacher of the Year” is chosen by the school’s teaching staff. The 2011-2012 Putnam City teachers of the year are:

They are deeply committed to the children in their classrooms. They hold high expectations and work tirelessly to increase learning and raise the level of student achievement,” says Paul Hurst, superintendent.

Each of the 27 teachers of the year is also a nominee for Putnam City Schools’ District Teacher of the Year. The winner of that award will be announced at the March 13 reception.

The Teacher of the Year reception, sponsored by the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation, is free and open to the public.
