Putnam City High School administrators have invited students from all three district high schools and Bethany High School to attend a College and Career Fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The event, to be held in the new cafeteria at Putnam City High School, 5300 N.W. 50th, is free and open to students and parents from the four schools.
The event will provide an opportunity for students to begin thinking about college and visit with representatives from 22 state colleges and universities. Representatives will also be on hand from Francis Tuttle Technology Center and branches of the military .
"This is a great chance for local students to begin looking at options for life after high school. Students and parents will be able to talk with college reps about areas of study, campus life and costs and begin to think about what school or kind of school will be best for them. Options for career training and military service can be explored as well,” says Brenda Stinnett, a counselor at Putnam City High.
In addition to browsing the college and university booths, students will have the opportunity to attend sessions on topics such as paying for college, free online ACT and SAT practice exams, and Francis Tuttle scholarship possibilities.
