Putnam City North Classes and Activities Cancelled on Friday, Sept. 9A broken water line has forced cancellation of all classes and activities at Putnam City North High School on Friday, Sept. 9.
The break occurred in the only line that brings water into the school building. As a result, there won’t enough water coming into the building to flush toilets, prepare food or run the chiller that supplies air conditioning to most of the building.
Students have been notified through an announcement. Calls to parents will be made using an auto caller, and a message is up on the district website.
District officials believe maintenance crews will be able to repair or replace the broken section of the line in time for school to be held Monday.
If repairs can’t be made in time, school officials will again notify parents through phone calls and post a message on the front page of district website.
District officials say the problem affects Putnam City North High School only. All other district schools will be in session as normal on Friday.
