Parents of students at Wiley Post Elementary are invited to attend an upcoming meeting to discuss student achievement, school improvement and school choice. The meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, in the school cafeteria.
Preliminary information from the State Department of Education indicates that the school for the second year in a row did not make what the state considers “adequate yearly progress.” The law requires that students at such schools be offered the chance to transfer to another school within the district.
Principal Stephanie Treadway will talk with parents about student achievement, state ratings of schools, plans for improvement and options for parents to transfer their children. The session will include time for parents’ questions to be answered.
