Teachers of the Year Selected Teachers of the year for each of Putnam City’s 27 schools have been selected and will be honored at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year event on Tuesday, March 8, at NEWCHURCH, 9201 N. Rockwell. The event’s reception begins at 6:30 p.m.; the program begins at 7.
Each school’s “Teacher of the Year” is chosen by the school’s teaching staff. The 2010-2011 Putnam City teachers of the year are:

“These teachers exemplify the best the teaching profession has to offer. They’re dedicated professionals with a passion for teaching. They have hearts for the children in their classrooms. They have high expectations for themselves and their students. They are wonderful examples of the kind of teachers we have in Putnam City,” says Paul Hurst, superintendent.
Each of the 27 teachers of the year is also a nominee for Putnam City Schools’ District Teacher of the Year. The winner of that award will be announced at the March 8 reception.
The Teacher of the Year reception, sponsored by the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation, is free and open to the public.
