In mid-August a new school year begins in Putnam City. For families new to the district or who have moved to different schools within the district, Putnam City officials have two words of advice: Enroll now.
According to Putnam City enrollment office manager Beth Manning, as many as 2,000 families will flock to the district enrollment center in coming weeks, creating a noticeable crunch in late July and most of August. Even with extra enrollment staff and expanded hours, lines and waiting times will inevitably growing longer as the first day of classes on Aug. 20 draws closer.
“The thing is, there’s no reason to wait. We’re open for enrollment and ready to help right now, " Manning says.
To enroll children in any Putnam City school, parents or guardians should visit the district’s enrollment office fill out required paperwork and supply needed documentation.
The District Enrollment Office is located in the Putnam City Center at 5604 N.W. 41st, about halfway between Ann Arbor and MacArthur. The enrollment office is currently open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parents wondering what information and documents they’ll need to enroll their child may check the enrollment section of the district’s website or call the enrollment office at 491-7631.
