Putnam City North High School’s “Project Panther: Fighting Cancer” will hold a prom dress sale from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, in the Upper Commons at Putnam City North, 11800 N. Rockwell.
The prom dress sale is a fund-raiser for cancer research. The sale will be stocked with formal and semi-formal dresses and accessories brought in by local residents. Any area high school student or parent may bring in dresses, purses, shoes and jewelry from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28, to the Upper Commons or Activities Office at Putnam City North.
Dresses may be placed in the sale for a fee of $5 each. The fees will go directly to the Project Panther: Fighting Cancer Fund. People with items to sell set the price for those items and then may keep the proceeds or donate them to the cancer fund.
Two years ago, more than 200 prom dresses were sold at the school’s prom dress consignment sale, raising more than $2,000 for cancer research. Through the course of the year, Putnam City North students raised $35,000 for cancer research.
