Three quiz bowl teams from Hefner Middle School advanced to the semifinals during the Cougar Challenge at Highland East Junior High in Moore on Thursday, March 1. There were 19 teams which participated in this tournament.

Taking first place in the tournament was the team of Jeremy Allen, Gaige Webster, Andrew Maples, Steven Harsha and Sean Burton.

Winning third place was the team of champs Jennifer Chen, Cierra Keith, Matt Cohlmia, Matt Wallen and Lucas Adams.

The fourth place team was made up of Cecil Wilber, Connor Deimund, Jared Deimund, Nathan Miles, Josh Burgess and Elizabeth Hurd.

These students have actively participated in the PEAK program which sponsored these teams. They are coached by Mrs. Chesney and Mrs. Fowler along with parent coaches Mrs. Harsha, Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Miles. Congratulations to the students for their successes and the parents who helped to make it possible.
